“Welcome to the 8th annual GreenBuilt Tour. The GBT was conceived in 2000 by the Green Alliance, a predecessor organization of the New Mexico Chapter of the US Green Building Council. The self guided tour of sustainable architecture provided the public with a way to see what can be done to construct homes in an environmentally sensitive manner. Last year the tour was attended by over 1000 individuals and as far as we know, it is the largest tour of it’s kind in the US. It has grown from simply a home tour to include LEED certified buildings and a lecture series. The small fee we charge is designed to cover the cost of the brochures and rooms we rent to put on the tour and classes. Everyone involved with the tour is a volunteer and no one receives a salary or gifts.”
